I’m writing this blog entry from a plane on the way to Salt Lake City. No, I’m not cool like Jontay. My plane doesn’t have internet. I’m going old school and just typing this in my word processor. I’ll post it later.
It is currently my spring break. Break began early Friday morning when I had to be at school to leave for Company Tour. We drove to Indianapolis Friday, performed a few times, went to Columbus, OH on Sunday and performed there a few times.
Overall the trip was fantastic. I got to know some people in the group that I didn’t know well before, and overall, I would say we became quite unified.
Yesterday, Company performed at the high school one of our members attended. The band had an hour or so to kill that afternoon, so Travis (one of the keyboard players) and I spend time hanging out with some of the high schoolers.
I had an epiphany while I was with them that I have a camp counselor personality to comes out when I’m around kids. It is an overly excited and enthusiastic version of myself. It makes sense at camp because you are under pressure to entertain the campers for the most part. It is not necessary however when you are hanging out with a high school show choir. Then it’s just awkward.
Hopefully I can get rid or that personality before I play at camps this summer with Carl.
Now I’m on my way to Salt Lake City to go skiing with Laura and her family. I’ve never been skiing before, so wish me luck.
